What are you waiting for?

Happy New Year! Today is day 1 of 365 new opportunities to create the exact life that you want. Isn’t it crazy how we always wait for Monday, the first of the month, or in this case, the first of the year to start something […]

How do you break into college sports?

How do you break into college sports?

Early this morning, a particular tweet caught my eye. It talked about how employers always mention that they’re looking for someone with more experience. So, as a college kid, without any experience, how in the world do you expect to get hired or get an […]

R&R + the beauty of doing NOTHING

R&R + the beauty of doing NOTHING

I had an early morning flight from Chicago to Phoenix. I have become very loyal to Southwest over the years, and have to admit that I actually enjoy the randomness of the seating arrangement. You never know who you are going to encounter and how […]

The Light

The Light

“Happiness can be found in even the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.” Why do we allow others to steal our light? It seems like an easy concept to understand. You know, the fact that we control our own […]

Enough

Enough

Why do we allow ourselves to think that we’re never enough? I started thinking about this topic last week when I got home from a long, yet fulfilling day, and felt satisfied. For once, I didn’t feel like I needed to anything more with my […]

Just Say No

Just Say No

No, this is not a campaign for D.A.R.E. I will admit that I have a very bad habit over overcommitting to things. Like, really bad. For me it’s not FOMO at all – I could really care less about missing out on certain events. For […]

Real Happy

Real Happy

I get asked all of the time if I am really this happy. You see for most people, happiness is a facade. It’s a face they put on in the morning before they walk out the door. It’s not real, but more of a role […]

Someone once told me that I should get paid for my perspective. I thought he was absolutely insane. I mean, who would want to pay ME for my thoughts and insights? However, as we discussed, and I thought more into it, it made a little bit of sense… I often forget that my day to day life isn’t like the “normal” human. Although, let’s be honest, what does normal even mean anymore? Anyways, the spectrum of individuals and experiences that I encounter on a daily basis are all over the place. One day I start out teaching a sports class to teenagers straight out of juvenile detention, followed up by an afternoon working out of a private social club in the city discussing social media strategies for my NBA clients. The next day I am up at 4:30am to get a yoga session in (that I teach) with student-athletes from a non-profit organization I’ve been involved in, followed by breakfast, and drop-offs at school. The next day I am on a flight halfway across the country to rent a car, pick up a retired NFL client, and drive 4 hours to drop him off at a rehab facility.

Yes, these are all real life experiences… (more…)
